24 Hours at Farnham Estate Cavan

Last Friday Aoife and I checked into Farnham Estate for a Girly Night away.  This has become a Christmas tradition for us over the past few years but with only a few weeks before my new bundle arrives we went a little earlier this year.

Arriving to the Hotel you drive through the stunning golf course, whilst also getting a glimpse of the 1300 acres of woodlands and lakes which surround the hotel.  There are several walkways through the grounds for guests to take, but unfortunately the weather was a little miserable for us to take advantage of them (I say unfortunately but we were secretly delighted!). If you are an outdoor person you would love these trails, if you like an active break away this would be a perfect option.

The hotel itself is an original Irish country house which has been restored with a  modern twist while also combining some of the original features.

We were lucky to stay in the Arnmore Suite which had a lovely view out onto the Gardens and some of the Estates Woodlands.

As you can see from our photos the room had a gorgeous marble bathroom with a double sink and really generous sized ESPA products

The hotel is well known for its spa which uses both Yon-Ka and ESPA products.  Due to being pregnant I was a little limited with what treatments I could get but opted for the Yon-Ka deluxe leg relief pedicure.  This 60 minute treatment comprised of a full pedicure as well a leg wrap which is designed to reduce fluid retention in legs and feet.  I’ve been pretty lucky to not really have much swelling but I did find the wrap lovely and cooling.img-20171024-wa0004.jpg

Aoife took advantage of the Water Mint thermal area and the swimming pool.  The pool extends outdoors and has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. It was like no other outdoor pool, a real unique feature of the hotel.

Although we both enjoyed the spa, for us the meal we had in the Botanica restaurant was the highlight of our trip.  The food was simply delicious, both of us opted of the Fillet of Beef which was beautifully tender and tasty. We followed this up with chocolate fondant which as you can imagine was equally as delicious! Aoife enjoyed a few glasses of wine and we gossiped the night away. The restaurant decor itself was really calming and relaxing, we both loved the ambience. The service itself was absolutely flawless.

For anyone looking for a girly night away or a relaxing couples weekend away, we recommend you check out the Farnham Estate.  We had such a relaxing stay , it really was the perfect girly catch-up. Packages begin from €159 per room midweek bed and breakfast and you can check them out here: www.farnhamestate.com
